There are currently no restrictions on open air burning; however permits are required for all burning. If you have a valid burn permit please call 1-800-285-0774 and follow the instructions.

Q1. What do I need to know about the Township’s recycling program?
Answer:

The Township operates three municipal waste disposal sites between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the following locations:

  • Escott-Rockport Road - open Tuesdays and Saturdays;
  • 365 Kidd Road off Eden Grove Road - open Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays;
  • Turk Rock Road off Briar Hill Road - open Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

Clear garbage bags must be used. Each bag must have a garbage tag which may be be purchased for $1.50 each in a strip of 10 for $15.00 from the following locations:

The Township operates a comprehensive recycling program. This material is accepted at the waste disposal sites free of charge. The following items are not accepted: hazardous waste, dead animals, farm machinery, composting items, leaves, propane tanks, industrial waste, car bodies, asphalt pavement, cement or brick blocks and soil.

 

Q2. What do I need to know about lottery licencing?
Answer: If your organization is seeking a lottery licence, contact the Lansdowne Township Municipal Office for information.

 

Q3. How do I comply with the Township’s Dog Control Bylaw?
Answer:

The bylaw requires every dog owner within the Township to register each dog by April 30 each year. Licences may be obtained from the Township by paying the appropriate fee (see below). Owners of kennels or hobby kennels within the Township also are required to obtain licences by April 30.
