There are currently no restrictions on open air burning; however permits are required for all burning. If you have a valid burn permit please call 1-800-285-0774 and follow the instructions.

Recreation Information

Recreation Services is responsible for managing capital improvements to Jerry Park in Lansdowne, Kendrick’s Park in Lyndhurst; Centennial Park in Seeley’s Bay; Furnace Falls Park in Lyndhurst, the Bay of St. Lawrence Park on our western boundary and Rockport Park at the Rockport Recreation Centre. Through the provision of parks, open spaces and protected natural environments, recreation contributes to the environmental health of our Community. 

Recreation Services strive to provide as many recreational opportunities as possible. We have an open-door policy and welcome ideas and suggestions for new activities. Call us at 613-659-2415.

KAYAKING Programs

We have partnered with 1000 Islands Kayaking Company to organize kayaking programs for all ages taking place in Lyndhurst and Seeley's Bay. For program information see the Recreation guide or visit www.1000ikc.com.

TRAILS
TLTI is surrounded by a variety of trail systems managed by local organizations and volunteer groups. The attached
"Trails Guide" provides a summary of each of the trail systems located in the Township along with a map outlining the trail systems. Explore your community today. For more detailed information on the variety of trails, visit www.explorethearch.ca.

  TRUE SPORT: 
On February 25 Council declared our Community a True Sport community.

Ontario Early Years Program - Mobile Bus and Toy Lending Library, Play & Learn

Parents, grandparents and caregivers and their children from birth to six years, have an opportunity to access early learning activities, resource and early learning professionals.  Program includes art, sensory, literacy, gross motor, fine motor and math activities  as well as group time.  The Mobile Outreach offers parenting books, children's books, resources and inforamtion shets that can be borrowed.  Thursday Mornings, 9:30 - 11:30 a.m.

URBAN POLING -
The St. Lawrence Medical Centre is pleased to announce it's new Urban Poling program that will be offered during the summer.   Urban Poling is a new program sweeping our Nation, join today for a great workout with low impact. For more information contact Pheobe at 613-659-2525.

FIT AND FABULOUS
Designed for older adults to help improve aerobic capacity, strength, flexibility, balance and coordination. Progressions are provided to challenge individual fitness levels. Wendy Desrocher is a certified fitness instructor specializing in fitness for the older population. Pleaes bring your own fitness ball, mat and water. Safety is stressed at all times. Great music and freat fun!

Times: Monday, Wednesday, Fridays
             9:30 - 10:30 a.m. or
10:45 - 11:45 a.m.
Fee: $55.00 once per week, $92 twice a week, $127 three times a week.

 

AEROBICS - Step and Tone, Step / Ball / Core Class
Join the fun and get fit with certified instructor Lori Higgs. Use simple athletic style moves on and off the step, providing muscle development and cardio strengthening, followed by a weighted workout set improving overall strength and endurance through the use of dumbbells. This class allows the participant to add as much intensity they wish to each move making it perfect for the beginner or advanced. Participants must provide their own
water, hand weights, and mat. Please note there are no classes on statutory holidays. Advanced registration is required due to limited space.

Fees: $58.00 once a week, $94.00 twice a week.
 
Kickboxing 
Punch and kick your way through a great workout set to high-energy music with instructor Lori Higgs. You will be led through a dynamite kickboxing session designed to give you a great cardio workout. No experience necessary!

Times: Tuesday & Thursdays, 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm
Fees: $58.00 once a week, $94.00 twice a week.
 

N R JEE Fitness - Lyndhurst
Join the fun and get fit with certified instructor Brenda Paige. Learn to work your way to a healthier, happier
and stronger you. The focus is to improve your range of motion, flexibility, circulation, balance and strength. Please bring you own hand weights. Please note there are no classes on statutory holidays.

Dates: September 21 - December 14
Location: Sweets Corners Public School
Times: Monday and Wednesday   7:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Fees: $60.00 (once per week)   $93.00 (twice per week)

YOGA *now moved to Wednesdays*
Join instructor Julie Green to build a firm foundation in Hatha Yoga. Gain self awareness through practicing yoga postures to strengthen and stretch your body while releasing tension. Learn to breath diaphragmatically and deepen your practice as you explore the postures from the inside.

Dates: September 22 - October 27
Location: Lansdowne Council Chambers
Times: 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.
