TLTI Volunteer Call Out - July 2026
We’re looking for friendly, community-minded volunteers to support our upcoming Feed Your Mind: Lunch & Learns in the Township of Leeds and the Thousand Islands.
Help us behind the scenes with project planning—it’s time-limited, and the commitment is flexible (both in-person and remote roles available).
Roles:
- Ambassador Volunteer ( in-person) (Lansdowne - Filled, Mallorytown - Filled)
- market program, speak at events about upcoming monthly events
- put up posters
- Timeline - ongoing throughout the project, August to March.
- Ambassador Volunteer (virtual) - (Filled)
- market program through social media channels, sharing TLTI posts in various community group platforms. Timeline - ongoing throughout the project, August to March.
- post events in various online website calendars, i.e., County website, Town of Gan. Timeline ongoing throughout the project, August to March.
- post in the Mirror Review and Gan Reporter free event page listing section. Timeline - ongoing throughout the project, August to March.
- Event Registration Volunteer (in-person)
- assist with registering people on the online platform at community events, capturing which events, dietary restrictions, and transportation needs. Timeline - ongoing throughout the project, August to March.
- Event Registration Volunteer (virtual)
- make phone calls from a list of people who have called the office to sign up. Call individuals and gather information on which events they want to attend, any dietary restrictions, and any transportation needs. Record all info on the online application form for each person. Timeline - ongoing throughout the project, August to March.
- Transportation Logistics Volunteer ( in-person or virtual)
- from the list of registries, tabulate numbers for each pick-up location and send expected numbers to the Transportation Bus Line. Timeline - a week before each session.
- call and confirm with each individual that they have signed up for transportation and inform them of the location, including pick-up and drop-off times. Timeline - a week before each session, throughout the project, August to March.
- Lunch Logistics Volunteer (in-person or virtual)
- from the list of registries, tabulate numbers for each session with the number of meals needed and any dietary restrictions, and send info to the Caterer, including details such as date, time and location. Timeline - a week before each session, throughout the project, August to March
- Day of Event Volunteer Set Up (in-person) 9:30 a.m. – 11 p.m.
- set up tables, chairs at venue spaces (Lansdowne, Lyndhurst, Seeley’s Bay)
- put on coffee, tea,
- set out water, sugar, milk, cream, paper cups, and napkins
- but up any banners
- assist with setting out resource material and presenter info
- Day of Event Volunteer Take Down (in-person) 1 p.m. – 2 p.m.
- cleaning and putting away tables, chairs
- taking out garbage and cleaning the space
- packing up leftover resources, materials
- Day of Event Assistant Volunteer ( in-person) 10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
- assist with any attendee mobility needs
- serving lunches and refreshments to anyone unable to do so
- Connector Volunteer (in-person) 10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
- hand out presenter resources and any other resources related to the topic
- assist members with finding and connecting with resources that serve the community and their needs
- The position will be mentored by a Connector Lead
- Connector Volunteer Assistant (in person or virtual)
- assisting with collecting content and resources from the community for an Older Adult Directory to be given out at the end of the project
- the position will work with the Program Lead and the Connector Lead on the creation of the directory.
