Garbage and Recycling
The Township of Leeds and the Thousand Islands operates three (3) waste disposal sites for Township property owners or residents. All property owners or residents are required to put their household waste in transparent plastic bags, tagged with a purchased bag tag before taking their household waste and recycling to one of the three waste disposal sites in the Township. Attendants may ask to see proof of residency.
Property owners or residents in the village of Lansdowne have curb-side pickup for waste and recycling.
Household Hazardous Waste
Each summer the United Counties of Leeds & Grenville hold Hazardous Waste Days for residents of Leeds and Grenville. A Hazardous Waste Day in our Township; usually the third Saturday in August. Notice is generally received in May and are posted on our website and social media platforms.
Can't wait until summer? For a fee, the City of Kingston may accept your household hazardous waste. You must come to the Township office to purchase and receive your yearly one-time use pass.
