Heritage Celebration and Conservation Grant
If you own property that is "listed" or designated heritage under the Ontario Heritage Act you could be eligible for grant funding to help conserve its heritage attributes. There is a one-time Heritage and Celebration Grant of 50% to a maximum of up to $5,000 for new designations under the Ontario Heritage Act.
- The eligibility of the grant category of up to 50% to a maximum of $2,500 is now every two (2) years..
Eligible grant projects:
- Projects that support the heritage attributes/cultural heritage value or interest of the property.
- Works that conserve, and/or restore exterior architectural features, such as:
- Doors, windows, verandahs, cupolas, chimneys or other decorative trim, parapets, cornices, hood molding’s, fences, outbuildings, siding, roofing, masonry, brick, stucco repair, and painting.
- Exterior structural and/or foundation repairs
- Non-abrasive cleaning of necessary for conservation.
- Reconstruction of former heritage attributes. Applications must demonstrate that such features existed previously through submitted documentation.
- Architectural or design study prepared by a qualified heritage professional for eligible properties.

Projects must be completed by December 31 of the calendar year. Extensions are at the discretion of the Director of Planning and Development.
