Road Ownership & Responsibility

Many roads within the Township of Leeds and the Thousand Islands belong to other entities such the United Counties of Leeds & Grenville, Ministry of Transportation, private citizens or lane associations. 

If you have questions about mailboxes, signs, entranceways, trees, etc., please contact the following:

County roads, or arterial roads, are maintained by the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville. These include:

  • County Road 2
  • County Road 3 (Prince St., Reynolds Rd., Outlet Rd.)
  • County Road 4 (Quabbin Rd., Rockfield Rd., Warburton Rd.)
  • County Road 13 (South Lake Rd.)
  • County Road 32
  • County Road 33 (Lyndhurst Rd.)
  • County Road 35 (Station Rd.)
  • County Road 34 (King Street West, Eden Grove Rd., Hiscocks Rd.)
  • County Road 37 (Howe Island Ferry Rd., East)
  • County Road 42
  • County Road 47 (Main Street in Seeley's Bay)

Provincial Highways are maintained by Webber Infrastructure. These include:

  • Highway 15
  • Highway 137
  • Highway 401

Private lanes are maintained by citizens or lane associations. If you live on a private lane you may be eligible for the Private Road Grant.
