    Adaptive Re-Use of 151 Main Street, Seeley’s Bay
    Township of Leeds and the Thousand Islands

    A Public Information Centre (PIC) is being held to introduce the Adaptive Re-Use project, review survey results, and to solicit public and stakeholder’s feedback on the information presented. The project team representatives will be available to answer questions and discuss next steps.

    Township of Leeds and the Thousand Islands |Service Disruption Notice

    The United Counties of Leeds & Grenville continue to impose lane width restrictions on Lyndhurst Rd from Water Street to Cook Street from September 24 to October 9, 2025.

    Oversized commercial and agricultural vehicles (greater than 3.2m) are required to detour. Traffic will be redirected to Jonas Street, Red Horse Lake Road and County Road 3.

    Motorists are urged to use caution, follow posted signage, and allow extra travel time. Patience and cooperation are appreciated as we work to improve our infrastructure.

    Notice of Public Information Centre #1 - Hwy 401 Planning Study

    The Township received a Notice of Public Information on September 24, 2025, and we are taking the opportunity to inform our community residents.

    The Ontario Ministry of Transportation has retained AECOM Canada ULC to conduct a Preliminary Design and Class Environmental Assessment Study focusing on the replacement and rehabilitation of structures, interchange modifications and establishing the footprint of Highway 401 for future interim six and ultimate eight lanes, from 1 km west of Highway 15 to 1 km east of Highway 2/King Street (approximately 27 km), including the Thousand Islands Parkway/Highway 2 interchange.

    South East Health Unit recommends all those 75 and up, those eligible, to protect themselves against RSV

    The Ontario government has expanded the Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) prevention program to include all individuals aged 75 years and older, helping to protect those most vulnerable during the upcoming respiratory illness season. Older adults, particularly those with existing health conditions, are more susceptible to severe disease and have an increased risk of RSV-related hospitalization and death.

    The South East Health Unit (SEHU) recommends that those who are eligible for RSV protection get vaccinated this respiratory season.

    If you do not have a health-care provider, SEHU is offering RSV vaccine clinics across the region for eligible individuals. Appointments can be booked at:

    The Township Office will be closed on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, in honor of National Day of Truth and Reconciliation. Regular office hours resume on Wednesday, October 1.

    The Waste Sites will be open Saturday, September 27, closed Tuesday, September 30, 2025, and resume regular hours Wednesday, October 1.
