July 16, 2026 – Council Celebrates Volunteers at TLTI Volunteer Gala
(Lansdowne) – The Township of Leeds and the Thousand Islands (TLTI) proudly celebrated the contributions of Committee Members during a special Volunteer Recognition Gala, attended by Council, staff and Committee Members, titled “Volunteers Grow Our Community” on Wednesday, July 15, 2026.
The event recognized the commitment and service of volunteers who have served over the past four years from the following Committees and Groups:
Kingston – Cataraqui Conservation is extending its Shoreline Conditions Statement today, advising municipalities and the public about water levels on Lake Ontario and the upper St. Lawrence River.
Lake Ontario water levels are expected to remain relatively stable or continue a slow decline over the coming weeks. However, higher water levels are possible if wetter-than-average weather and water supply conditions return.
By way of explanation, the International Lake Ontario – St. Lawrence River Board (ILOSLRB), which manages Lake Ontario outflows and forecasts water levels, reported the following in its July 13, 2026, briefing:

From July 16 to July 19, the parking by-law will be suspended to permit parking on both sides of local Township roads to accommodate visitors attending the Lansdowne Fair.
There is no parking on King St. west of Prince St. and no parking on Prince St. extending to County Rd. # 3 (Outlet Rd.). Please avoid parking at the end of Church St. near County Rd. # 3. Please check the posted map and ensure you park responsibly not blocking driveways and leaving room at intersections. Enjoy the fair!

(Lansdowne) – Council members, staff, community members and Mr. John Paul Jackson, community member and creator of the 25th Anniversary of Amalgamation Commemorative Flag, gathered at the Township Administrative office, 1233 Prince Street for the official unveiling and flag-raising of the 25th Anniversary commemorative flag.
The event featured remarks from the Mayor and members of Council, recognition of Mr. Jackson’s art submission, the design and voting process, and the ceremonial raising of the Township’s 25th Anniversary of Amalgamation flag by Mr. John Paul Jackson. The newly unveiled flag will be flown on the community flagpole at the Township office for the balance of the anniversary of the 25th amalgamation year.
MAYNARD — Steve Clark, MPP for Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes, announced today that the Ontario government is investing $105,312 in six local projects through the Seniors Community Grant program.
The United Counties of Leeds and Grenville will be removing an existing stone masonry wall and constructing a new engineered retaining wall in Lansdowne to improve slope stability and enhance public safety.

End Date: July 31, 2026
