(Mallorytown) - The Township of Leeds, the Thousand Islands (TLTI), and the Town of Gananoque hosted the annual Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) Recognition Event on Thursday, July 9, 2026.
Representatives from OLG and Shorelines Casino Thousand Islands, staff and council from both municipalities and representatives from local community groups that were grant recipients through the OLG funded Community Grants program under the Municipality Contribution Agreement.
(Lansdowne) – Council members, staff, community members and Mr. John Paul Jackson, community member and creator of the 25th Anniversary of Amalgamation Commemorative Flag, gathered at the Township Administrative office, 1233 Prince Street for the official unveiling and flag-raising of the 25th Anniversary commemorative flag.
The event featured remarks from the Mayor and members of Council, recognition of Mr. Jackson’s art submission, the design and voting process, and the ceremonial raising of the Township’s 25th Anniversary of Amalgamation flag by Mr. John Paul Jackson. The newly unveiled flag will be flown on the community flagpole at the Township office for the balance of the anniversary of the 25th amalgamation year.

MAYNARD — Steve Clark, MPP for Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes, announced today that the Ontario government is investing $105,312 in six local projects through the Seniors Community Grant program.
Take notice that the Council of the Township of Leeds and the Thousand Islands will hold a public meeting on Monday, July 13, 2026 at 6:00 pm. The meeting will be to consider the following application for amendment:
Official Plan Amendment Application D09-2026-001 and Zoning By-law Amendment Application D14-2026-007 – Administrative Amendments
Zoning By-law Amendment Application D14-2026-008 Administrative Amendment – to permit limited structures within the 30-metre water setback with a maximum combined area of 14 square metres. The proposed exception would not apply to lots fronting on Highly Sensitive Lake Trout Lakes (Charleston and Red Horse) and would not permit structures containing sleeping accommodation within the setback area.

The United Counties of Leeds and Grenville will be removing an existing stone masonry wall and constructing a new engineered retaining wall in Lansdowne to improve slope stability and enhance public safety.

Sewage Treatment System (STS) and the Railway Sewage Pumping Station (SPS) to effectively collect and treat wastewater generated from existing and projected future development.

March 5, 2026 – SEELEY’S BAY, ON – Parks Canada will begin the full replacement of Brass Point Bridge in Seeley’s Bay in summer 2026, with reopening expected in early 2028. This project will replace both the historic swing and fixed bridges, upgrade roadway infrastructure, and ensure the long-term safety and functionality of this key crossing on the Rideau Canal National Historic Site.
