Leeds Fire Service | Dock-to-Door Fire Pump Clinic

The Leeds 1000 Islands Fire Service and the Thousand Islands Association (TIA) are partnering once again to host a Dock-to-Door Fire Pump Clinic. The public event aims to equip seasonal and permanent waterfront residents with essential knowledge on cottage fire safety, emergency preparedness, and property protection.

Who: Leeds 1000 Islands Fire Service and the Thousand Islands Association (TIA).

What: A Dock-to-Door Fire Pump Clinic for cottage and waterfront safety.

When: Saturday, August 29, 2026, at 9:00 a.m.

Where: Government Dock, 117 Ivy Lea Road, Ivy Lea, ON.

Why: To teach residents about fire pumps, alarms, and emergency navigation.

The clinic will take place on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at the Government Dock located at 117 Ivy Lea Road, Ivy Lea. Community members are invited to attend by car, boat, or on foot to interface directly with local firefighters and community safety advocates.

Attendees will get a firsthand look at real fire pumps, participate in live operational demonstrations, and learn key criteria for choosing the right pump for their properties. Firefighters will also be on hand to answer pressing community safety questions. Topics of discussion will cover a wide range of waterfront concerns, including campfire guidelines, smoke and carbon monoxide (CO) alarm regulations, and strategies to ensure emergency responders can quickly locate island properties.

Both organizations encourage all residents to drop by the dock, engage with the team, and gather the information necessary to protect their families, properties, and neighbours this season.
