MAYNARD — Steve Clark, MPP for Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes, announced today that the Ontario government is investing $105,312 in six local projects through the Seniors Community Grant program.

MPP Clark joined Augusta Township Mayor Jeff Shaver today to learn more about the township’s project to provide inclusive, accessible, and affordable programming for seniors. The township will receive a $25,000 grant to offer seminars, fitness and arts activities, social gatherings, and intergenerational workshops. Seniors will help plan and lead programs, fostering peer connections and volunteerism.

“We have many local organizations that do amazing work supporting seniors throughout Leeds and Grenville. I’m pleased that our government is helping build more age-friendly communities with these Seniors Community Grant investments,” said MPP Clark. “These projects will connect hundreds of seniors with social activities, reduce isolation, and promote, active, healthy and safe aging.”

“Augusta Township residents are very appreciative on receiving a $25,000 in funding from the 2026-27 Senior Community Grant Program. This funding will certainly enhance our senior programs and initiatives within our community,” said Mayor Shaver. “I would like to personally thank Minister Cho and MPP Steve Clark for acknowledging the importance and relevancy of such funding and how our seniors strengthen our community values.”
