March, 27, 2024 – New Fire Station Groundbreaking Ceremony

(Lansdowne) – The Township of Leeds and the Thousand Islands (TLTI) is proud to announce the groundbreaking ceremony for a new state-of-the-art fire station, marking a significant milestone in enhancing community safety and emergency response capabilities.

The ceremony will take place on April 5, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. at the construction site located at 3300 County Road 32, Seeley’s Bay. The event will feature remarks from the Mayor and Fire Chief, followed by the ceremonial turning of the soil to signify the start of construction.

The new fire station will address the growing needs of our community by providing modern facilities, cutting-edge equipment, and improved infrastructure to support our dedicated firefighters. With expanded resources and enhanced capabilities, the fire department will be better equipped to respond to emergencies promptly and effectively, ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents.

Key features of the new fire station include:

  • 6 bays
  • Training room
  • Capacity for 32 firefighters
  • On-site water storage, utilizing water run-off from the roof
  • Strategically located for faster response
