Tell us about yourself! Hobbies? Fun facts? How did you get started?
I have been a professional newborn and portrait photographer since 2010. I graduated with Graphic Design from St. Lawrence College and after having my first daughter a few years later I could not put the camera down. I loved capturing my kids and setting up backdrops. So, while on maternity leave I flew to Ohio and took my first newborn workshop with Stephanie Knowles from Jaiden Photography and I was hooked. Sadly, I have no perfect newborn photos of my girls, but I get to live vicariously through all my clients and their babies.

Define your business in your own words.
Lindsay Foster Photography is a professional studio that uses safe and healthy methods of working with newborns and children. Each session is customized for the client. From colours, decor, props and poses. When they come, the session is already setup and ready. Luckily, for the new parents, everything is taken care of. Their only job is to sit back and relax and nurse/feed baby when required. It's a very relaxing atmosphere. Every image chosen and edited is guaranteed to be an image you would hang on your wall. The hardest part for the client is deciding which images to hang and that's a good problem to have.

What business achievement are you most proud of?
My biggest business achievement would have to be my new studio. For over 7 years I worked out of my dining room. It took hours to move all furniture out of the way and setup backdrops and props where our family sat to eat dinner every night. It was tiresome and frustrating but the love I have for what I do kept me doing that day in and day out until we moved for the sole purpose of getting me my own space. I now have the most beautiful home studio in our new home. Setup exactly how I had envisioned what my very own studio space would look like. Finally, after 7 years I not only get to call myself professional, I get to LOOK professional to my clients when they come.

Why did you choose Leeds and the Thousand Islands to start your business?
Simple. I grew up here. I'm following in my Dad's footsteps of being a local business owner. Not to mention, the area is beautiful.

What words would you use to describe Leeds and the Thousand Islands?
This area may be small, but it is filled with so much talent! Not to mention supportive of each other. The historic beauty and feel of Leeds and the Thousand Islands is second to none.

Provide a message to your future guests!
Without images to capture life's fleeting moments, we would struggle to remember all the many things we loved about each year of our child's life; such as small baby toes, tiny fingers, soft baby rolls, baby steps and the curiosity when they see bubbles for the first time, the list goes on. Memories can fade, so capture them all permanently by booking a session with Lindsay Foster Photography.
