Dock-to-Door Program. Smoke alarm awareness and portable fire pump training for Leeds 1000 Islands Residents!

Who? All residents of the Township of Leeds and the Thousand Islands are invited to attend this important fire safety initiative, hosted by Leeds 1000 Islands Fire Services (LTIFS) in partnership with the Thousand Islands Association (TIA).

What? Hands-on learning about the importance of working smoke alarms in homes, cottages, and sleeping areas, along with practical training on the operation and maintenance of portable fire pumps. These pumps are critical tools in protecting remote island and cottage properties in the event of a fire.

Where? The Leeds 1000 Islands Municipal dock. 117 Ivy Lea road. What3words location ///caller.activity.sputtering

When? August 8, 22 and 30 from 9:00am till 12:00pm.

Why? The TIA has generously donated two portable fire pumps to LTIFS. In response, LTIFS is hosting three public clinics this August to empower residents with knowledge and skills that can make a difference in protecting life and property—especially in remote areas where response times may be longer.

Additional Info: Attendees are encouraged to carpool, as parking and dock space are limited. Photo and interview opportunities will be available during the clinics.
