Recycling Changes coming to TLTI | July 1

The Township of Leeds and the Thousands Islands is transitioning its Blue Box program to the Producer Responsibility Framework under Circular Materials.

What does this mean for you?

Village of Lansdowne Residents:

  • Curb-side pickup of Recycling and Household Garbage will be performed by Emterra Environmental Inc.
  • Residents will see Emterra vehicles around the Townshipwhite recycle truck with the logo emterra
  • Pickup day is Monday; Tuesday, if Monday is a holiday.
  • Recycling items must be sorted by type:
    • 1. Plastics, metal, aluminum, and glass in transparent bag;
    • 2. Paper and Cardboard flattened and tied or in transparent bag.
  • Questions about missed collection or replacement of recycling bins can be directed to customercareont@emterra.ca or 1-888-597-1541.

Township Waste Disposal Site Users:

  • Users will see new bins and signage provided by Emterra Environmental Inc.
  • Recycling processes remain the same:
    • Keep beverage containers, glass, flexible and rigid plastics, and metal materials together
    • Keep Paper materials separate from above
