From the Ground Up… An Operations Department Update

Summer may be winding down but capital projects in TLTI have ramped up! The Operations department is taking advantage of dryer weather to tackle many of the annual fall maintenance tasks but also capital projects involving roads, parks and facilities.

Crews will be wrapping up works on Cunningham Road as part of the hard surface conversion project. Culvert replacements and upgrades have been completed on Ubdegrove and Holland Roads while Fairfax Road saw completed quality control warranty work. Next, they will be heading to La Rue Mills Road to prep for hard surface conversion in the eastern portion of our Township.

Landowners within the current watershed of the Allin Drain have been notified of drop-in meeting with the Drainage Engineer on September 5th, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Lansdowne Community Hall. This meeting will allow landowners to ask questions and discuss improvement details.

Update for travelers of Cliff Road, speed limit signs have been posted in accordance with the Township Bylaw. Thanks to residents of Cliff Road for bringing this to our attention!

The Jerry Park pavilion is substantially complete! This month the completion of the surrounding landscaping and connecting trails is anticipated.

Staff from Malroz Engineering will be visiting residents of Lansdowne to conduct site inspections about Source Water Protection. This education initiative will identify potential risks to drinking water in the village.

Beginning in September, crews will be moving onto Mountain Street to prepare for a bridge replacement. The concrete bridge structure will be replaced with double corrugated steel arch pipes. Mountain Street will be closed at the bridge from September 9 – 27, 2019, unless otherwise posted.

Residents and motorists on Pelow Road are benefitting from a bridge replacement project that concluded July 25th. Motorists are enjoying a widened road surface over the structure along with new guide rail installations. Shout out to our friends at Sandy Pines Wildlife Centre for their assistance in assessing the construction area and verifying the status of turtle nests.
