April 24, 2020, Lansdowne, ON Fire Ban Remains in effect and municipal boat launches are closed.


(LANSDOWNE) – As we head into the weekend and warmer weather is forecasted, the Township wants to remind residents that there is a Burn Ban in effect. The Township also wants to remind residents that all municipal boat ramps, public parks and recreation trails remain closed.


The Township has been in communication with the OPP regarding the decision to maintain the closure of the boat ramps.  Josh Kingsley, OPP Detachment Commander has confirmed that the OPP’s full time marine program begins May 1st  and states “I continue to encourage people to follow the advice of the Public Health Agency of Canada including to avoid non-essential travel.  This includes recreational boating, we are all in this together and everyone needs to do their part to flatten the curve”.
