April 30, 2020, Lansdowne, ON Burn Ban remains in place.  Municipal boat ramps on St. Lawrence River open May 1st and inland lakes May 6th.


(LANSDOWNE) –The county wide Burn Ban for the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville remains in effect. Residents are reminded that if the Township Fire Department is called and attends a site where burning is occurring contrary to the Burn Ban, that tickets may be issued with fines starting at $101.50.


Township boat ramps in Ivy Lea and Rockport, accessing the St. Lawrence River, will open May 1. Municipal ramps on inland lakes including Seeley’s Bay (Cranberry Lake) and Lyndhurst (Lower Beverly Lake) will open May 6. 


Mayor Smith-Gatcke reminds residents to “continue practise physical distancing while utilizing these facilities; to adhere to the provincial order limiting group gatherings to five people or fewer, unless they are from the same household; and to limit travel to essential purposes only.”.


The RCMP is present on the St. Lawrence River and the OPP will begin their full marine program on May 1.  Marinas are currently closed in accordance with provincial orders.
