Leeds and the Thousand Islands Township News
For the week of September 7, 2020

Beginning September 14th the Municipal office will be open to the public from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday. Entrance to the lobby will be through the doors nearest Council Chambers and the exit will be through the main double doors. Masks are required.

The Leeds Grenville Household Hazardous Waste Day has been scheduled for Saturday September 19th from 8:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the South Leeds County Patrol Garage just north of Lansdowne on Outlet Road. COVID -19 regulations will be in effect and residents are asked to please remain patient and to remain in your vehicle.

There will be a virtual Council Meeting on September 14th at 6:30p.m. To join the virtual meeting please follow the instructions found on the Civicweb Portal at        


The Township will be offering Fall fitness classes and recreation programs. Online registration opens Tuesday, September 8th and can be accessed by visiting and clicking “Recreation and Leisure Programs” on the home page!

The Lansdowne Association for Revitalization is sponsoring a Scarecrow Sightings Events this month! Join LAFR in bringing some delight and laughter to our community by designing and creating scarecrows to be placed throughout the village of Lansdowne and surrounding area. Place your scarecrow anytime after September 15th and ensure it is removed by November 5th. Check out the LAFR facebook page for inspiration and be sure to email a picture of your scarecrow to them at
