When property owners propose new development ideas that affect the zoning by-law or official plan, the Township holds public meetings to discuss them.
We will notify you about development in your neighbourhood by the following methods:
Property signage |
The applicant may be required to post a sign on the property that provides a brief description of the proposed development. |
|
For zoning by-law and official plan amendment applications, all property owners within 120 metres (394 feet) of the subject property receive a mailed copy of the notice of public meeting. For minor variance applications, all property owners within 60 metres (197 feet) of the subject property receive a mailed copy of the notice of hearing. The notice describes the proposal, date, time and location of the hearing, Township staff contact information and how to provide comments concerning the application. |
Local newspaper |
When posting on the property site is not possible, a notice of the public meeting is advertised in the local St. Lawrence News (EMC) newspaper. |
Meeting agendas |
Council and Committee of the Whole meeting agendas are available on the Friday before the meeting. Committee of Adjustment agendas are available 10 days before the meeting. Public meeting agendas for zoning and official plan amendments are available 20 days before the meeting. |
Email notification |
Sign up for email notifications and automatically receive an email when public meetings or Committee of Adjustment meetings have been scheduled. |
We are available Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to answer questions you may have about development in your neighbourhood.
